Welcome to the Year 1 class page.
We are very excited about our new class and have made lots of new friends.
This half term we have introduced the 'Good to be Green' reward system. We get lots of stickers and green cards for following school rules.
We made rules for the classroom, they are:
- We sit smartly on the carpet.
- We put our hand up to speak on the carpet.
- We line up quietly and sensibly.
- We listen when others are talking.
- We are kind and share with each other.

We all have new targets to work towards in Reading, Writing and Maths. Our targets are displayed in the classroom (as shown above). They are our 'Steps to Success'. The aim of the steps is not that we all reach the top step but aim high towards our own target. We understand that we all work towards different levels. We support each other to meet our targets, working as a team to do our best.

As part of our Communication, Language and Literacy development we have been looking at signs, lists and labels. We have written shopping lists, made signs for rules in P.E which include: Take all jewellery off before P.E, Find a space, Put your clothes in a neat pile and Walk with quiet feet to the hall. We made some labels for the classroom for the window, door, chairs, tables and also some classroom rules.

Our topic this half term is called 'Look at Me'. As part of our topic and our personal, social and emotional development we have been making new friends and finding out all about each other. We chose one of our new friends to draw a picture of on the computer. We looked at eye, skin and hair colour and used our mouse skills on the computer to create a portrait of them.
