Welcome to the Reception Class Page - Miss Bonner

We have all been very busy settling into our first half term in Reception.

There have been lots of new things in our first few weeks of school. We have been learning about our school rules; look after our school, look after ourselves and look after our friends. We have been finding out that these are very important to help us learn and get along with our friends at school.

In the last few weeks we have been getting messy making our fantastic 'Steps to Success' rainbow board. On this board are all our targets to help us know what we are working hard to learn to do by ourselves.

Our latest topic has been all about Autumn. We've been looking at what happens to the weather and nature during the different seasons. We have investigated and looked very closely at various autumn objects and done some beautiful observational drawings.

In our Literacy work we have read the Little Red Hen and done lots of different activities about the story; we drew pictures, thought of sentences and even made bread!

Over the next few weeks we are starting to talk about keeping healthy and staying safe. We will be talking about healthy eating, the importance of exercise and we are going to taste lots of different fruits. On Monday 22nd October we are very lucky to be having a visit from a group of Firemen who will be talking to us about the importance of staying safe.
