WELL!

What a busy first half term!

First of all I'd like to say a big warm welcome to all the children in my new class. I'm really looking forward to teaching you this year. I hope you are ready to learn lots!

We have our class targets ready for you to see how well we do this year!

Literacy

Shakey is the man!

We have been looking at William Shakespeare (The Bard) and his famous Globe Theatre (that mysteriously burned down in 1613) and also his most magnificent play Romeo and Juliet.

Y5H children have been budding journalists in creating a newspaper article to report on the devastating blaze that destroyed the Elizabethan theatre.

Our final newspapers have been RED HOT and they children have learned a lot about journalistic writing.

We have also been reading William Shakespeare?s Romeo and Juliet.

It is a tale of war, love, humour and tragedy.

Two houses both alike in dignity,
In fair Verona were we lay our scene,
From ancient grudge break into new mutiny?


We have been translating William Shakespeare's old english words into modern english.

DANCE! Wow! who'd have though that dance could be so good!

We have been shadow boxing and moving in slow motion to recreate the war between the Montagues and the Capulets!
